This group is meant to be a space where you don’t have to pretend things are easier than they are.
This is How it Works
Over the course of 6 weeks, we’ll meet once a week in a guided virtual setting to explore some of the emotional and day-to-day realities that can come with living with epilepsy, including uncertainty, independence, relationships, identity, and the parts that often go unseen by others.
The group will be guided by me, Kami Sime, counselor and coach with lived experience with epilepsy. Some people may come to talk openly. Others may need more time. Some may not be looking to talk much at all, but simply to spend time in a space with others who understand what it’s like to live with epilepsy. All levels of participation are welcome.
To help create a supportive and comfortable environment, the group will be kept small (up to 6 participants). The goal is to create a space where everyone has room to participate in whatever way feels right for them and where meaningful connections can develop over time.
The questions below are meant to help me better understand who is interested, what people are hoping to gain from the experience, and how to thoughtfully create groups where participants are likely to connect and relate to one another. Factors such as age, life stage, work situation, and individual experiences with epilepsy may be considered when forming groups.
Because groups are intentionally kept small, placement in a specific group cannot be guaranteed. If there is enough interest, additional groups may be offered. Completing this form allows me to learn more about you and contact you regarding current or future group opportunities that may be a good fit.
