My Road Here

Before opening up to someone about your life, you probably want to know a little about who they are first. That makes sense.

I was born and raised in Norway and grew up between two very different ways of seeing the world. One side of my upbringing valued structure, discipline, hard work, and resilience. The other leaned more toward emotion, intuition, and connection. Growing up between those perspectives taught me early on that people can experience the same world completely differently and still both make sense.

As a teenager, I knew I wanted more than what felt familiar to me. Since then, I’ve spent years traveling around the world, adapting to new environments, and eventually building a life in the United States, where I’ve now lived for over ten years.

Being from another country still shapes the way I see people and relationships. I understand what it feels like to constantly adjust, rebuild, and try to create a sense of belonging in unfamiliar spaces. I also know how complicated it can be to live between cultures, carry different expectations, or feel like different parts of your identity show up depending on where you are and who you’re around. Because of that, I’ve become especially interested in the tension between how people appear externally and what they may quietly be carrying internally.

I also live with epilepsy, which has given me firsthand experience with the unpredictability and emotional complexity that can come with managing something that affects everyday life. That experience deepened my interest in resilience, identity, relationships, and the connection between emotional and physical well being.

Today, my life in Miami includes not only my work as a coach and counselor, but also my roles as a wife and stepmother within a blended family, which continues to shape the way I think about communication, parenting dynamics, relationships, and the realities people navigate behind closed doors.

All of these experiences continue to influence the way I show up in my work: grounded, honest, emotionally present, and interested in helping people better understand themselves and the patterns that shape their lives.
